Freedom of Zion Roman Glass Necklace

Inspired by the famous coins minted during the Jewish revolt against the Roman Empire, this beautiful necklace reflects the spirit of the revolt, and of the Jewish nation overtime. The coin-shaped amulet features a grape leaf on one side, with an inscription of the phrase 'Freedom of Zion' in Hebrew. The other side features a goblet and the words 'Year 2' in ancient Hebrew, which mark the years 67/68 CE, the second year of the Great Revolt.

The coin design is inspired by a coin found at the archeological sifting project of the Temple Mount at the Emek Tzurim National Park on the mount of Olives. The circle surrounding the coin amulet is made of roman glass fragment which originated from glass vessels from the Roman period, creating a wholesome, valuable piece.

The special colored layer on the glass is called a patina, it was formed in the depths of the earth following a multi-chemical process.
