David's Harp

King David was known as a great general and founder of Jerusalem, the United Kingdom of Israel and the dynasty of kings of the House of David who ruled Jerusalem for about 450 years. Alongside being a commander and statesman, David was known as someone who knew how to play the harp: 'when the spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took the harp, and played with his hand;' (Shmuel A 16:23). King David expressed his spiritual world in the book of poetry and melody, the book of Psalms. Billions of people around the world are familiar with the word which David opened many psalms in his book - 'Hallelujah' and it is spoken by them in exactly the same language that King David used about 3000 years ago.
