These ancient and moving words were used by the priests to bless the People of Israel in the desert (Bible: Numbers 6:24-26). Since then, this blessing has been combined with a prayer and blessing from parents to their children. 

The excavations at an ancient burial cave on the Shoulder of Hinnom in Jerusalem revealed two tiny silver plate scrolls that served as an amulet. One of the scrolls features the words of the Priestly Blessing.
