The silver, gold plated necklace is decorated with a coin pendant and a garnet stone. The pendant was designed to evoke the buried treasure from the Ophel excavations, in which a Torah scroll ornament was discovered. The front part of the ornament is composed of a large pendant upon which the images of the golden Menorah, a shofar and a Torah scroll are depicted, while the back part closes with smaller decorative medallions – the inspiration for the pendant on this necklace. The buried treasure belonged to pilgrims who came to Jerusalem during the late Byzantine period, and was found adjacent to the Southern Wall.
