Leather necklace from the Pure for God Collection with a silver pendant bearing the words “deka leyah”. Seals were used in the Temple to identify wares and products in the Temple as pure. This seal was found in a water channel that runs underneath the Herodian Road, the main thoroughfare that brought Jewish pilgrims to the Temple. The seal holds great historical value as it is the only physical testimony to the system of purity that existed in the Temple, as described in Jewish sources.
