Palmira Pérez, the four time Golden Mike® winner and news anchor for the Mundo Fox television network, visited the City of David in November 2012 during her trip to Israel, which was organized by The Office of the Prime Minister of Israel. She walked through the ancient site and saw some of the most recent archaeological discoveries, including what is believed to be King David’s Palace and the Herodian Road, which led Jewish pilgrims from the Pool of Siloam up to the Temple Mount. Most notable was her seeing the foundation stones of the Western Wall, which were previously buried from view and inaccessible.
It was by the foundation stones that she was presented with a gift from the City of David’s unique collection of jewelry, a pair of gold earrings from the Golden Eternity Collection. Each collection is inspired by an actual find made in the City of David excavations. The Golden Eternity Collection is inspired by a 9th century elaborate capital that once adorned a column of a royal building, perhaps even gracing the royal palace of the House of David.
