Sterling Silver double-sided Priestly Blessing necklace. This unique design has the priestly blessing written in modern Hebrew letters on one side and in ancient Hebrew script on the other side. The necklace’s design was inspired by a very rare archaeological find - a silver scroll with the verses from the “Priestly Blessing” prayer. These verses are the earliest testimony known to us of verses from the Bible: "May the Lord bless you and guard you, May the Lord make his face shed light upon you and be gracious unto you, May the Lord lift up his face unto you and give you peace." (Numbers 6, 24-26)
The scroll was found rolled up in such a way that a string could be threaded through in order to be worn, probably as a necklace or ornament. Two such scrolls were discovered at the Ketef Hinnom burial caves during excavations that took place there in the 1970’s. The scrolls are dated to the seventh century BCE, the end of the First Temple period.
