A gorgeous set from the Priestly Blessing Collection. The pendant is made of sterling silver on a gold-plated backdrop, while the gold-plated earrings have a slight curvature. Both are engraved with ancient Hebrew script and are inspired by a rare archaeological find- a silver tablet with the verses from the Priestly Blessing, "May God bless you and safeguard you. May God shine His face upon you and be gracious to you. May God turn His face towards you and give you peace.” [Numbers 6:24-26] The tablet was found rolled up like a scroll with room to thread a string through, to enable it to be worn as jewelry or an amulet. It was discovered inside a burial cave in the Hinnom Valley during excavations that were carried out in the area in the 1970’s. Dated to the end of the First Temple period (7th century BCE), it is the earliest archaeological evidence of verses from the Bible.
